This week on Babywatch – no sightings but as expert analyst Liz assesses the change in the behavioural patterns of the heavily laboured female in question and concurs to anticipate activity in the next couple of days. One would play on the quote ‘the end is nigh’.
However this imminent arrival is not the only individual that will be vying for the accolade of ‘cutest small thing’ (I reckon I was the closest to this up to now ;) haha) as King Charles will be crossing our humble threshold in a couple of weeks hence… of the canine nature, this isn’t the place where deceased monarchs roam. On Saturday we went south of the River (location of places here are given by their location in proximity to the Swan River that intersects through the city of Perth) to view this soon to be new addition to the family. I have not been overly exposed to animals during my upbringing, though my siblings were a close match, so this will be interesting to have as a brief experience.
Post puppy palaver we headed into the surrounding hills that stand the other-side of Swan Valley (Perth being on one side) to Kalamunda which was having it’s ‘market day’ in the town centre, similar to that you would find in the UK. There also happened to be an English Shop along the street, where I took the liberty of poking around in, It was akin to a rather small ‘corner shop’ that one would find at the end of a English street…though the items here included import tax and what not so the prises were vastly more expensive (up to x4 the price of home).
On Monday, work had decided to give the floor staff lists of ‘markdowns’, items that had been reduced, for what I assume is to shift it and make room for the ‘summer stock’ that’s trundling in (though its July – remember its winter here at the moment and will be until Sept). The list I was given had its own folder... so I finished doing the markdowns this morning as it was the majority of the department that had been reduced. Its times like these I’m glad of my dis-interest in footwear/tight wallet as otherwise I may have found it hard to resist all the bargains on offer!
Soccer update: we lost our first 11 aside game the weekend before last and the bruises/injuries are still present to remind me such … you may think I bruise like a peach but I like to think it’s because I get very involved in the game. And speaking of health, I had my first cold of the winter too, though it was brief and due to standing around too much during training last week… because I had collided with an opposition member during the prior Sunday’s game to which I received a ‘dead leg’ that lasted for 48 hours (yes painful!) and thus inhibited my running abilities.
That’s about all my brain can muster at the moment, I had to think what my age was when calling up a school-friend earlier to wish her Happy Birthday (7 months my junior)… tired early and unable to remember ones age, as sign of the times much?
Nighty night
